On that note, I designed/made one of the themes included in the MyGamingLadder package. Which one?:) I was using MyGamingLadder a few years ago to run 'NodeLadders' - with a few personal tweaks to the scripts it proved to be a very stable platform to run the ladder competition from - when it closed it had 1400 players on 120 odd teams - and the software had no problems at all. However, after using MyGamingLadder, I still say that a custom written solution would be much better if the budget allows it. There are very few places in Australia able to pull off a succesful ladder, both GA and Gamespace do fairly well (The former being much bigger of course) because they offer something fairly elusive - bookable servers with automated ladder systems. Too often I've seen people try to use software which is basically a webpage, it works but requires a huge manual effort and it makes life hard for anyone who's in charge of manually reconfiguring a server when its ready for wars. I know the software which runs Gamespace is technically available for use from the company who runs GS - EON. However they will most likely want money for it (although i wouldn't go by the prices on their website) - but you can have a looksee here: It's not a terribly complicated concept - although they have the 'server manager' which stops and starts the game servers in time for bookings and configures them accordingly.
