I have recently taken the free upgrade from Windows 7 to 10. My trusty HP deskjet printer was running on a 990c driver but this no longer seems to work. Has anyone been able to successfully install the 6127 on Windows 10 using a driver. Download Driver Canon Lbp 1210 Cho Win 7 64bit. The HP website offers no drivers or alternatives and says ' If a driver is not available from HP, you might be able to print from USB using the Add Hardware feature in Windows 10'. This is not really acceptable and a poor show from HP and Microsoft at this point in time. Hi Zig Zag, thanks for the advice, appreciated.

But this is how I solved the problem myself, HP website no help. I remembered that the printer has an Ethernet / network connector as well as USB. Cypress Touchpad Windows 10 more. So I took out the USB and connected to my router via an Ethernet cable.

You can get network settings by pressing and holding the X button on the printer. Then I ran Windows printer set-up add a printer.

Clicked on 'The Printer I want isn't listed' So then added the printer ticking 'Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname'. Then I used the IP address printed from the printer settings X. The system detected a printer then I selected HP Deskjet 990c, (as not one for 6127) which was the one recommended for Windows 7 and hey presto the printer sparked into life! Have successfully printed text and graphics which is as much as I want to do. Simple when you know how! Hope this can save other people some time and get their faithful printer working on Windows 10.

Thanks again. I had same problem (Win 10 - killed 6127 printer driver) - SO - this worked for me. I had the print driver for the HP 990C installed on my PC from when I had Win 7. Go to control panel, printers, add new device, scan for installed devices (it won't find it). Select 'Printer not listed', then select 'Add a local Printer', on the choose a port page select 'Use Existing' and it will default to LPT1, but scroll down to USB001 Virtual Printer Port for USB and select that - then follow the prompts - Windows 10 will find your 6127 and name it as 990C as before - and you're in business.
